12.02.2010 Love is brave when it is safe

On February 12, the event “Love is brave when it is safe” took place in three universities of Irkutsk (Irkutsk State Linguistic University, Irkutsk State University, Baikal National University of Economics and Law).
About 600 people took part in the event:
• ISLU – 300 people;
• BNUEL – 100 people;
• ISU (Law Institute) – 100 people.
• Flash-mob – 100 people
Following the completion of the event, two news items appeared (NTS and AS Baikal TV). One of them was consecrated to the event “Love is brave when it is safe”, the second one to flash-mob realization in association with Municipal Students Council, along with Irkutsk Administration.
Students of the Universities took part in the event with great interest: they solved thematic crosswords, passed “mini-exam” on modes of HIV transmission and its prevention, made the phrase “Stop AIDS for love” with red ribbons. If a student was not sure of one issue or another, he took the expert advice on the spot. A lot of participants thanked for the information they received during the event (for instance, it is a fact that mother-to-child transmission of HIV is possible but, if one complies with doctor’s instructions, there is a big chance to born a lusty child).
In total, more than 1500 informational materials, and about 600 personal hygiene products were distributed.
Information on activity plan was spread by “Sibirskiye novosti” and “Baikal Info”, as well as by “Radio-7” in every newscast from February 4 to February 8.
