The Irkutsk Oblast Federal Service for Supervision of Consumer Rights Protection and Human Welfare reminds you that the sooner Tuberculosis is diagnosed, the more efficient treatment result is. What prevention steps can be taken?
1. Get vaccinated against TB. It is done during first 3 – 7 days of an infant’s life if there are no contraindications. Children of 7 and 14 years old are revaccinated if they have a negative Mantoux and have no contraindications.

2. Have your longs x-rayed regularly– not fewer than biennially, starting from the age of 15. Therefore a person can be secured against severe forms of untimely diagnosed disease, but also his\her close people contacting him\her.

3. Observe the rules of healthy lifestyle. Conditioning to the cold regularly, going in for sports, eating healthy foodstuffs, restricting abusing alcohol, refusing tobacco smoking – these simple measures contribute to TB infection immunity and decrease the risk of getting infected with it.
4. Follow sanitary-hygienic standards and keep your place clean: do wet cleaning, often air your place, especially, if you stay together with a TB infected person. In the latter case, disinfectants must be applied for cleansing, as well.
